Volunteers Needed!

We’d be happy to meet with you and talk about volunteer opportunities at Hoops and Homework. Here are some descriptions of the different vounteer opportunities available:

Activity Facilitators

Facilitators create a safe and creative space for students to listen, learn and grow! Activity facilitators should have previous experience in group presentations, as well as bring age-appropriate, planned enrichment activities.

Organizational Support

Individuals experienced in and wishing to volunteer in fundraising, capital campaign, administrative, or other important support roles are encouraged to fill out an application as well.

Project-based volunteering is also available (i.e. plan and execute one fundraising event, re-branding/graphic design project).

Youth Interns

Youth can develop leadership and technical skills by completing an internship with Hoops and Homework. They will have the opportunity to work with staff on planning an event or activity, supporting an existing program, or creating their own! School community service credit and service-learning opportunities are offered.

Volunteers/Tutors (remote and in person)

Volunteers assist staff in providing safe and supportive experiences for our students. Volunteers will model healthy relationships with program participants and serve as both mentors and role models for youth.

Each volunteer is asked to cover a minimum of one three-hour shift scheduled at the same time each week.

Outdoor Education & Recreation

Group facilitators should have previous group facilitation experience ideally in outdoor play/ recreation activities. These Volunteers may start in another volunteer role and transition into an outdoor role.
